Baking soda is the ultimate product you need in your home. There are so many uses for Baking soda and it is not harmful like many products you use daily in your home. It is is time to stop putting harmful chemical that are killing us in our enviroment.
Besides it’s use in baking, There are so many uses for it you will be amazed how you can use it. I will share a list with you of the amazing things I use it for and some I haven’t tried yet!
Cleaning
My neighbor I had when I was a young girls had the most sparkling clean home ever. She had an old home and everything was white. Sinks, appliances and the counter tops were white. Like I said it was old but you would never really notice it because it was so clean, not a stain on anything. She cleaned everything with baking soda. She had allergies to cleaning products so she had to use baking soda. Even as a young girl, I notice how great everything looked in her home. I came from a clean home and I noticed things like that.
Baking Soda In The Kitchen
- It is great for cleaning stained dishes. I have use it to remove stains out of cups from coffee and tea. Just put a little on a damp cloths and clean and rinse
- You can clean all your appliances with it. I especially like to clean the inside of my refrigerator with it. It will keep you refrigerator smelling fresh also if you put a box opened inside. It will absorb odors.
- I clean my glasstop stove with baking soda and it has just enough scrubbing power to get the stuck on stans and food off.
- Clean pot and pans with baking soda and they will sparkle after a good cleaning.
- I have read where you can clean your veggies with it to get off all the chemicals and wax off.
- I have used it for many stains in the kitchen and it always works.
- Clean a stainless steel sink and after I clean it with baking soda it is clean and smells fresh.
These are just a few ways to use baking soda, but we need to start somewhere protecting ourselves from harmful chemicals. You will get an added bonus the cost of baking soda is far less than cleaning products.
You can add lemon oil for a fresh lemon smell if you like. I for one like the sent of those cleaning supplies with all the wonderful smells, but they are too harmful with all the chemicals we breath and absorb through our skin. There are many essential oils that are not harmful that make a wonderful smell.
Baking Soda for Your Health
- Baking soda makes a great toothpaste. I kills bacteria and it will whiten your teeth. This is especially good for coffee drinkers. Just a little power and water and your teeth will look great and your breath will be fresh.
- It makes a great skin exfoliator. I just put some in my bath and relax. You can add some directly on your skin, but be sure to rub gently. Your skin will feel so soft afterwards.
- Great to scrub stinky feet.
- For those that have extreamly bad underarm odor you can rub baking soda with a little water under your arm pits and it will take out the smell.
- Making a past of water and baking soda will bring relief to a burn or an insect bite.
- Run out of antacids, no problem mix 1/2 tsp. of soda with 1/4 cup of water and drink it down to releave heatburn. I have use the method many times until I could see a doctor to solve the main problem.
Baking Soda and Laundry
- You can clean the bottom of your iron with baking soda.
- To remove stains on clothing make a paste and rub into the stain and let sit for a while and wash as usual.
- Put some in your shoes overnight to remove the sweaty odors.
You will need to be careful if you are cleaning delicate surfaces. Such as wood flooring and certain counter tops. If you cannot use soda, white vinigar is another solution for cleaning.
In todays world we are becoming more aware of all the harmful side effect from chemicals in cleaning products. We need to find alternate avenues to protect ourselves while cleaning. This is just one of the ways I have found and it leaves everythng smelling fresh and clean.
